Case Analysis Of Violence And Neglect By Stepmothers Towards Stepchildren In Pontianak, West Kalimantan From The Perspective Of Social Solidarity Theory
Main Article Content
Abstract
Cases of violence and neglect by stepmothers towards stepchildren in Pontianak have raised public concern. This study analyzes the phenomenon through the perspective of Emile Durkheim, especially the concept of social solidarity. Mechanical solidarity in the family should be the basis for child protection, but has failed to function due to the collapse of social norms. This shows the importance of the role of law and enforcement of Human Rights (HAM) to restore social solidarity. Strict regulations are needed to ensure justice for victims and restore the balance of norms in society.
