A Study On The Effectiveness Of Mediation In Addressing The High Rate Of Wife-Initiated Divorce Cases At The Tigaraksa Religious Court, Tangerang Regency

Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of mediation in addressing the high number of wife-initiated divorce cases at the Tigaraksa Religious Court, Tangerang Regency and the factors influencing its success. The study uses an empirical juridical method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained through interviews with judges and court mediators and documentation of 2025 divorce cases. The findings show that mediation has followed Supreme Court Regulation Number 1 of 2016, but its effectiveness remains low. Of 1,106 mediated cases, 277 cases, or 25.05%, reached a settlement.
