Juridical Analysis Of Cross-Border Human Trafficking Crimes
Main Article Content
Abstract
Transnational human trafficking against Indonesian citizens (WNI) in Cambodia through online job scams constitutes a cross-border legal issue. This research aims to analyze the regulatory framework prohibiting human trafficking, the protection of victims and its implementation concerning Indonesian citizens in Cambodia. The research employs a normative legal method using statutory and library research approaches. The findings indicate that, de jure, the prohibition of human trafficking is regulated under Law No. 21 of 2007 and Law No. 1 of 2023, while victims' rights are reinforced by Law No. 3 of 2026 and Law No. 20 of 2025. However, regulatory harmonization issues remain in addressing transnational human trafficking. De facto, law enforcement faces obstacles in early detection, inter-agency coordination, asset tracing and cooperation with Cambodia. The research recommends harmonizing regulations and strengthening both law enforcement mechanisms and victim recovery processes.
