The Effect Of Changes In The Marriage Law On The Of Dispensation Of Marriage Creates Contradictions In Society
Main Article Content
Abstract
Amendments to the Marriage Law that raise the minimum age of marriage aim to protect children's rights and reduce early marriage. However, this regulation has triggered a surge in marriage dispensation applications in the courts. This study analyzes the impact of these changes and their effectiveness in reducing early marriage using normative juridical methods. The results show that although this law provides legal protection, underage marriages still occur through marriage dispensation. Therefore, strict supervision, legal education for the community and supporting policies are needed so that the child protection in this law can run optimally.
