Abstract
The seller's act of retaining possession of land after a valid sale and purchase transaction constitutes a legal issue examined in this study through a case analysis of Indonesia Supreme Court Decision Number 1513 K/Pdt/2022. The method employed is normative juridical with a descriptive analytical approach. The findings reveal that such conduct may be qualified as an unlawful act under Article 1365 of the Civil Code, the Basic Agrarian Law and Government Regulation Number 24 of 1997. Legal protection for good faith buyers is provided both preventively and repressively and Supreme Court Decision Number 1513 K/Pdt/2022 affirms that such protection must be realized through the actual delivery of physical possession of the land object.
